Study Spanish in Mazatlan, Mexico
The
Centro de Idiomas Spanish Program in Mazatlán is more than 25
years old and has proven itself to be a success for participants who
need to attain a working knowledge of conversational Spanish in a short
period of time. Emphasis is on achieving oral proficiency through speaking
and listening practice. Study programs with specialized vocabulary or
cultural emphasis for business executives, medical personnel, teachers
and other professionals are available. Many are repeat students or people
who have been referred to us by others. Comments
from former participants include "the teachers are professional,
helpful, enthusiastic and very patient."
Mazatlán is unique among Mexican beach destinations in that it offers
all the amenities of an international resort while still retaining the
charm and hospitality of a typical Mexican town. The school is located
in the old colonial part of Mazatlán.
A typical day in the life
of a student can include a great variety of activities. We
have Conversation Club every Friday night so that participants can meet
some of the 300 Mexican adults who study English at the Center. When
participants wish to meet local Mexicans in their own profession, we
introduce them so that people in the medical field have opportunities
to visit hospitals and clinics; teachers can visit schools; etc. Some
participants do volunteer work with local organizations in order to
practice their Spanish and get involved with the community.
We feel we have the highest quality homestay program in Mexico. However,
if you'd like assistance with lodgings in one of our many fine hotels,
apartments or condominiums, we'll be glad to help you with that.
The minimum study period is one week. The cost of a four-week, five-hour-a-day
study period with a single-room homestay with a Mexican family (including
three meals a day) is US $1,252. We'll be happy to give you more information
